I figured that I needed to get these two videos up on youtube so I don't misplace or lose them at some point in time. I also have a few more videos but they will be rather difficult to capture. One is from Heretic 2 that the clan played for one weekend at a lan party and I would really like to get that up on yt as well. The first video is from about 1994 or 1995 and it is when I first switched to mouse/keyboard from Gravis gamepad for control. If you know what you're watching you can see my mistakes and also me not knowing my sensitivity but it is still rather fun to watch. The filename is gkvun.zip and you can search google gkvun.txt and find the information about this match. The person I was playing didn't want me to reveal his name since he was starting out like me and the match was pretty one sided. :D

The second video is a Quakeworld match at another local lan party with a few of us playing that tekk captured one time. This would probably be about 1998 in terms of time frame and these matches are what it was all about back in the day. I miss games like this and the fun that came along with everyone in game together. Even though we don't require lanning to play games like this nowadays, we sure could use some games *LIKE* Quake1 and Doom instead of the countlesss military fps titles, team based deathmatch and 'upgrades'. Everything gets in the way of deathmatch these days and it really needs to get back to the roots of the genre.

Looks like most of the clan has the game now that still plays online. We will all have to get a game together sometime soon, it should be really fun. The voice chat is a little bit hard to figure out if you're used to games in the past, I still can't find the settings for the voice. I think after you join a party that there will be voice settings that you can adjust there. I am using my Xbox 360 Headset for voice chat since I don't really have a good one to use otherwise. I played a little bit last night with Hazeus and had a fun time although my binds were messed up. I have those fixed now so I can finally zoom in, I just want to get voice setup now so we can actually communicate and help out more. The game doesn't offer regular public in game voice chat as far as I know. You have to party up prior or join someone's party in game to be able to voice chat with them. Anyway, hope to see you out on the battlefield!

i never realized so many people had a negative outlook on my life. apparently i have been trying to meet a girl for the past 10 years and have only stayed on irc to expect as much. No. I have never been like that, I choose when I want to meet someone or be with a girl of my choosing. That doesn't mean it always works in my way, I have asked many girls many times before and have been shut down countlessly. I think when a girl likes you that she should immediately let that be known, and a lot of times girls would rather play games and make you WORK for what you are interested in or really like. I'm tired of the guy endlessly trying to gain approval but at the same time I don't fault that. You males of my generation are absolute scum. You are weak and pathetic, mindless and outnumbered by people who have actual intelligence in their life. The good guys will always be there for the people who care. I'm not quite sure why everyone in this country seems to think they walk on water, have red carpet strewn out before them anywhere they decide to wander off to or are just unreasonable/hateful in general. This is a friend of mine in one of the IRC channels we constantly talk in and I was absolutely shocked to find some disgusting fat sweat hog thinks that she has the right to get out of her joke of a car (prius) and come over and open her gigantic PIE PORTAL complete with obscenities in front of young children. I think I would have personally lost it and if I see situations like this arise anywhere in real life I'm just going to instantly call the police. We can't afford to have arrogance like this continue in this country. There are other people around us at all times on this planet and we're not some gift to the world. This woman obviously had some personal issues to begin with, it looks like it was a Prius driver's meet up or something in the parking lot there. Why was she parked there enjoying the 'quiet' anyway? If you want quiet you go to a library or stay in your hogfarm of a house that she most definitely lives in or around. Another funny thing is to listen to her complaints about the lack of mileage with the truck. Diesel engines have very good gas mileage along with a lot of torque to pull things like boats and other heavy equipment that might be required from living on a FARM that the author of this video explained to the BEHEMOTH. Try pulling a tree branch with that Prius, you'll make it probably 4 blocks before the battery is dead or the axle blows out from underneath the car.

The highlight of this video is when the fat sloth says to the author of the video that he's ignorant when it couldn't be any further from the truth. Get fucked fatty.

I'm not sure why devs take pride or have an attitude regarding porting their apps/games to other mobile platforms. The only valid reason that I will accept is that the time/effort needed may or may not be worth the payoff if they were to port something. The game I'm talking about specifically is IOS's Sword & Sworcery. This game had me intrigued from the very beginning, although I know now I will never have a chance to play it since the developers aren't even interested in other platforms from what I can tell. I specifically remember reading their actual webpage with some snide remarks at the bottom regarding that it'd only be on ios. I also happened to catch this article in which one of the devs simply replies 'Nope!' It's as if they're proud that so few people are going to experience the game and that they enjoy people being upset that they can't enjoy the same product as ONLY the IOS users. What do they expect us to do, run out and buy an ipod just to have some of this content? Android seems to slowly but surely gaining decent content but it's still just not there. I blame every dev out there who hasn't ported or isn't in the process of at least ATTEMPTING to port their ios content to other platforms, mainly Android. Console gamers suffer every year from exclusives on one platform or the other and I find it particularly annoying. Most of those times the companies involved are being paid something for the exclusive, but here in the mobile world it doesn't work that way. These developers are CHOOSING one platform over the other because they must be fanboys deep down. Another developer that I won't put so harshly is the creator of Tiny Wings. Now this is only one person making this game, and yes Superbrothers are only a couple if not a handful of people. If you're a developer and don't like a platform in one way or another just say it, don't sit there like some arrogant child holding the cookie jar from the other kids like you're important to the rest of the world. You aren't, your content will be forgotten, and the less people you let experience your creations, the more of a low life you are if you are doing it only for fanboyish reasons. diaf

I see today now Apple is suing HTC again at this point in hopes of stopping their sales and imports entirely. I just have to say at this point, if you're still buying products from Apple and supporting this company in any way, then you are doing your part to continue support of incorrect and outdated patent laws, bullying businesses into giving out money for absolutely no reason at all, unfair business practices and more. Companies like Apple and Microsoft are always doing this in the courts. The iPhone was not a unique design, Palm had been designing slab like PDA's for years prior to the iPhone or iPod. Same with HTC, they were designing tablet products years prior to anything Apple had at all. I don't see how people can even defend a company like Apple when they continue to just follow along and haven't innovated with much since the iPad or iPod/iPhone. Trying to scare companies into not making products, specifically Android products is a very, very shameful thing to do and I'm sure some at Apple do not agree with it but simply have no power or say to change anything about it. Competition is always good for the CONSUMERS as better things come out all the time, and the main key about all this would be *CHOICE*. We don't want ONE phone for all, we want specific products catered to specific needs of the user. This has to be put to an end at some point or our laws have to be corrected in order to keep companies like Apple in line. I am ashamed an American company this size can keep acting this way over all the years they've been in business and still have supporters of their products. There is no logical way to defend any of their actions, they are not protecting innovative designs or anything specific they came up with; you cannot or rather should not be able to patent ideas like 'swipe finger left to right to unlock the lockscreen' and other nonsense. It almost vaguely reminds me of when Amazon tried or did patent the one click checkout, I'm not sure how the results came out on this one.

It would sure be nice to live in a world that wasn't totally ruled by money, I sometimes feel I would have been better off if I lived during the 1800s or something out in the Wild West, but then I'd probably have been killed in some Saloon shootout or something.

Apple, Microsoft and any other companies using their pool of generic patent portfolios should die in a fire and that is all.

New Video Card

I had a horrible series of events happen with my computer on Sunday night. I was watching my normal series (True Blood, Falling Skies, Ice Road Truckers, etc) and after that was over I decided that I was going to finish this documentary I had started on Bill Hicks (American: The Bill Hicks Story). I looked over to my machine before I had switched inputs on my TV to the PC connection and noticed my machine wasn't even on at this point! I quickly started trying to turn it on, switching the hard power switch in the back, checking the power connection. I ended up opening up the side of the case and started checking things out. I ended up being able to get the machine to power on without the 2 pin (extra power) connectors to my video card but still would not get a video display. I had an onboard HDMI connection (onboard video) so I tested that quickly and found that I did get video. I decided to retire on that for the night and did end up getting to enjoy the rest of the Bill Hicks documentary Sunday night.

The next day I woke up and hoped that Microcenter would be open since it was the 4th of July. It was and my mission had started. I first went in and actually asked one of the clerks what he would bet on, guessing it either had to be power supply or the video card itself. I was betting on video card personally, but the power supply was the cheaper buy to test first. I arrived back home and immediately started hooking up the new power supply. When everything was set, I flipped the hard switch, hit the power button on the case, and immediately saw a nice orange spark and a *zzzt* noise. I felt like my heart had crushed at that moment since it immediately seemed like a simple fix at this point was not possible. I instantly removed the videocard, and decided to go through all the steps I could to test if the motherboard was ok. Sure enough it turned out, both power supplies were fine, and the motherboard still powered on with video working from on board video. I headed back to Microcenter and decided I should buy a cheap PCI-E Videocard and make *SURE* the PCI-E slot on my motherboard was still good, after all sparks were just flying all around there. So back home, I hooked the videocard into the machine and tested with both power supplies yet again. This time the PCI-E slot proved to be ok and I was so grateful nothing worse had happened and I was dead set on replacing my video card with a new one. Back to Microcenter I went and decided on a quite expensive purchase that should last me a couple more years if something doesn't fry at this point. Funny to say the old video card was purchased June 28th of 2009 and had a 2 Year warranty. $400 I still am happy to have a working machine with a very capable video card ready for the coming games like Battlefield 3, Rage, Skyrim, Dead Island and more!

Android game devs

I don't know why developers for Android apps have such a bad habit of announcing games and saying they'll be out on a certain time, and then inevitably it's delayed for an indefinite amount of time with absolutely no word on when or if the game is ever coming out. I first noticed this back during 2010 when Pop Cap Games announced Peggle was coming to Android. The game is still not out, Plants vs Zombies just came out this month and it just seems to get old. Also, Jelly Car and Tap Tap Revenge which are now owned by Disney were announced to be coming out within the month on February of this year. They still are not out as well. Some of the games specifically catered to tablets and other Nvidia Tegra2 devices have consistently pushed their displayed release date back each month that they do not make release, and have been doing so for the past 2-3 months. I understand that things come up and cause delays but it would be very nice for these devs to keep in touch with their fans and users by using twitter or facebook or something. Maybe I am looking in the wrong spot and there is info out there, but I feel like I'm always waiting for something next on Android. I want these games and content NOW :D. I can only hope!

I cut my finger horribly today on the job, I can't stand making mistakes like that. I will definitely remember next time to respect freshly cut copper pipe :D. I've been playing Minecraft and L.A. Noire lately and both games are fantastic. I encourage everyone to join our clan server (clan.servebeer.com) if you are a Minecraft player or have the game. I hope i can make L.A. Noire last more than a week but I'm betting I'll finish it by this weekend. Duke Forever is in a month so that will be great, but no coop seems really unfortunate since the original had it and it was tons of fun. Getting ready to check out AOTS in about 25 min, and then going to watch Tornado Rampage 2011. Hope they find more people in Joplin, it's unbelievable an EF4 could do that much damage, but close to 200mph wind can ruin anything. I hope the best for all the people suffering.

I find news sites like Engadget, Gizmodo and Wired all majorly biased. These recent news reports regarding Android making a company like Rovio a ton of money, OpenFeint putting 100mil into helping devs port games from iOS to Android or even creating new games are great news. You wouldn't know that this is great news based on the reports coming out of the fanboy trio of news blogs. They consistently call Android games a 'bottomless well' as if there are no good choices out there. There are tons of choices in Android games and apps right now and it's only going to get better.

The future on mobile platforms for developers should be about MULTI PLATFORM, not exclusives per device. Also, when you have a third party like OpenFeint that works again on MULTI PLATFORM, you have an opportunity to bring multiple types of users into the equation. Something like Apple's Game Center goes hand in hand with how this company does business. There is another web based company that acts in a similar fashion; facebook. These are blackhole areas of the web, hardware and software. People choosing to support these closed, walled garden approaches to consumers are doing nothing but hurting ALL consumers. I have spoken with my wallet for a long time, until a company like Apple can cater or at least recognize other people are out there that don't want their products, I won't ever be supporting them. Fuck You

What is wrong with people today and their horrible writing and grammatical skills. These are full grown adults, with children even and they can't seem to spell anything correctly. Also I've seen this a lot on the internet too. It is SEPARATE, not seperate. It is DEFINITELY, not definately. I just saw someone misspell the word 'dominance' on facebook with domenance. How stupid can people be? I can only imagine their children and children's children will just progressively become worse at knowing anything about writing or our language in general if the parents can't even spell simple, elementary level words or be able to form complete sentences with an actual point.

why do they have shows that are talking about 'secrets' that no one knows. if it's on public broadcasting it isn't exactly a secret. every company thinks they have some inside scoop on something that's been talked about countless times on the internet or somewhere else before THEY got the information. i also have to include current reality tv shows in this discussion because they are absolute trash. they show you a week beforehand what is going to happen, then when you wait an entire week they show you EXACTLY what is going to happen in that episode before you even watch it. what is wrong with these people, have they lost every part of their mind and only focus on the marketing aspects of the show? on discovery, they claim 10 million viewers have 'tuned in' to the show yet they've NEVER FOUND more gold than a necklace someone would steal in the ghetto. these people have 'tuned in' for the 5 seconds of each new episode so they can see what happens for the 30 minutes after the fact. there's no point in watching most of this now, they should just compile the first previews of each show on a channel and people could just watch that. pathetic

Anyone ever see how ravenous people are towards their coffee in the morning? I consistently see people who have to STOP everything they're doing in order to make sure they have a swig of coffee. Now, I like my coffee hot too, but we don't need to be acting like squirrels when they find food, we are a multi tasking mammal. I also can understand if people aren't wanting to spill it, but I've seen people who stop doing EVERYTHING just to drink some. The problem with Android isn't the OS itself, it's the users. These users have been coaxed/brainwashed into their specialized UI that they really have no idea what Android is all about. They think their experience of the OS is exactly like every other user. They don't grasp the fact that the manufacturer modifies the open source OS to their liking in the ways that *THEY* feel is better for the user. This ends up with groups of users thinking they know the problems for Android when really they're focusing on problems with the custom UI that's been overlayed on top of the *stock* Android experience. I've seen users so far as think overlays like HTC Sense are *stock* Android interfaces but these users haven't understood how Android works. I'm not sure why PC manufacturers never put their own crappy overlays on top of Windows but this is essentially the same thing. Everytime since 2009 that I have heard of someone having a bad experience with Android it is always related to a custom overlay that somehow breaks functionality in a specific area. I'm very tired of this, and the only thing that *I* can encourage is to either run a custom rom that is really close to AOSP Android, or stick to Google Experience devices like the T-Mobile G1, Nexus one or Nexus S. The T-Mobile G2 is also very clean but aside from T-Mobile, no Android users have a real choice in stock UI since everyone is too busy implementing their own shitty UI. People shouldn't have to expect to do all sorts of work to get a stock Android experience. I hope carriers in the future allow or at least offer a choice to a truly stock Android experience because it makes everything so much easier and people will realize that is why it was created and made the way that it is today.

Starcraft 2 has been causing problems for gamers since it's release. People are now reporting fried/melted hardware due to no framerate cap on the menu system. Here is a link to an article on Daily Tech about it. I have not read about the possible fixes for this problem but I did some quick google searching to find what has happened to some of these machines.

Slow Week

Waited on the water department nearly all day yesterday, still with no success. This is the second week we've attempted to correct a customer's problem and stupid ass Kansas City Water Department is just an absolute dump and no one does their job there apparently. I'm about to check out the latest Red Faction for the PC this afternoon or this evening, been playing Monkey Island 2 Special Edition (MI2 is my favorite of the series) and also need to finish Red Dead Redemption. Headed out to dinner this evening, hoping to go somewhere nice, maybe try to impress a lil ha. BTW, pretty hilarious how some people are on Facebook, totally ignoring me when I simply asked a question is very childish, most of us are nearly 30 at this point and to act that way is ridiculous. Maybe it's passive aggressive behavior ha ha, I may have pissed them off prior.

Just saw that people were camping overnight down on the plaza by the Apple Store. I really don't understand the hype for this product this year. I'm not really sure if the masses in line are aware that they're not even going to get to experience the web the way it was meant to be experienced. Mobile Phones today should allow for true multi tasking, ability to use the device and software WE want, and have a product we are happy with. I have no problems with people buying what they want, but consumers today who buy Apple products are actually making it worse for themselves and the other consumers around them. Ever seen the movie 1984? That's where we're headed if we continually support a company like Apple. Apple does NOT give us choice but in fact decides exactly how we're supposed to use a device. I don't like that, and I don't think anyone else should.

I think I'm headed for a week or two depression. It always hits me at random times and I can only bet I know the reason it's hitting me this time. I partied a bit too hard this weekend hehe. We've had sooo much rain here over the past few weeks I had to throw every single rug I had down here in the dungeon away basically, and now it's pouring again. If I get water down here again I want to just move away, but I know that's not possible. Installed a sump pit/pump today JUST in time since it's a stupid storm again, and had to wait for over an hour for an electrician 'friend' to show up just to hook up ONE outlet. Absolutely pathetic if you ask me. I did end up meeting some cool customers late this evening, the husband is Scottish and does the book keeping for a local Home Depot where we park our big truck. I miss that accent so much, it reminds me of my soccer days, I had a couple instructors and a coach from Wales and even a couple Scottish ones over the years. I've been so busy lately with work that I really rarely find time to do anything in the evenings except relax. I have to do a Water Heater tomorrow and then after that probably clean a main sewer line. I do feel great while I'm working but after I get home I sort of feel lost sometimes in my life. Rockfest this weekend, don't have much to do until then. There aren't any movies I've seen out that I am interested in watching, feels like I've caught up in my backlog. Since my 360 finally rroded, I'm dying to play Alan Wake, but it's exclusive only to the 360. Just my luck to have mine fail RIGHT as I was about to play it :D. I am debating on whether to leave facebook completely or just stop logging in and will probably do something here in the near future about it. I don't like that site anymore and it's starting to have some of the same problems as myspace where people are adding me that I know I'll never talk to or see but we were friends in highschool. I guess it is kind of interesting to see what everyone is doing with their lives etc, so I shouldn't shun it completely, it's just some of these people I don't even know who they are because they are married and have a different name :D. Kick Ass to me was a great movie and I hope there are going to be more funny movies this year that I enjoyed as much as that one. Law Enforcement = General Scum

I know this is a couple days old but I was refraining from viewing the news article so I wouldn't get angry. Well, I read it and now I am angry. They had no right to search his house, search warrants are such a fucking scam. My house was raided in 2001 by my city's shit ass police force and they came in looking for mother fucking HEROIN they said. They ended up finding 55 grams of weed. That's *NOTHING* compared to some real drug dealer yet they acted like I was the worst person on the planet. I have absolutely no respect for law enforcement officials these days. I'm sure there are good ones out there but over there years I've just seen so many incorrect actions that I just lump them all together. There's a reason most police officers are only like 5'8 max. It's little man syndrome, they have authority disorders since they were always feminine and weak their entire upbringing. They always were the little person who couldn't do anything about it but once they established having a firearm and their badge, it gave them artificial courage and strength. I've heard all the bullshit reasons about how this wouldn't have happened at all had it not been for the homeowner himself breaking the law. Outdated and incorrect laws shouldn't be followed, even if illegal. I encourage this in EVERYONE I know. As I said I have no respect for law enforcement, I also have no respect for laws that are archaic and outdated. Every single police officer that was part of the Columbia raid should really question why they are even on this planet. Are you here to do good or just waste tax payer's money and time? This shouldn't even be in the courts, if anything it should be animal abuse.

I'll make sure I never visit Columbia, Missouri ever again. Shithole Police Department, shit ass officers, incorrect procedure, horrible actions.

All in all, stay away from Columbia and their stupid policies.

Car Dock

I received my Car Dock for the Nexus One finally today. The Fedex truck had the package since 8am this morning and it didn't arrive here until 7:04PM. I don't know if the guy was working late or was new or what but man that is crazy. I thought they had to have the stuff back to their local facility by then for local pickup. Oh well, I have placed the mount part on my dash and am going to let it dry for one day like the manual calls for, I didn't realize my grand am had such a trash contoured dashboard. I was forced to put the mounting sticky pad in the ONLY spot I could basically and i think only about 55% of the sticky part is touching an actual surface. Time will tell if it will hold :D. I didn't want to mount it to the window and have wires and other trash all hanging down like some science experiment so I really hope it does work out. I am eager to test out some of the features included in the dock, it is much more full featured than the others I've had with previous products. Also, 94.5 rocks for FM tuners. It's this crappy country station that barely comes in but for some reason if I use this station with my FM tuner it sounds clearer than any other channel I've tried with the one I have so far. I figured I was going to get a head unit but I'd rather get a new car than put a head unit in my Pontiac. :D

I can't seem to get over this stupid allergy or half sickness or whatever the hell it is this time. My left ear will not open all the way and has been like that for over a week and it is REALLY annoying. I've been taking some antibiotics and I think I'm almost recovered but it sure is lingering it feels like. I haven't been able to find any good things to watch lately and there are no games out really that I'm interested in playing as well. I did get a few new games on the N1 and with the Android NDK R3 released the games are only going to get better. I can't wait to see what happens this year with the platform.

I am seriously furious about this shit in regards to Apple suing HTC. These people at this company have been sue happy since the early 80s and have never had a problem copying, borrowing or TAKING ideas from other companies and using it in their products. They attack others with stupid patent lawsuits and in reality all they're doing is damaging consumer choice. That's one of the things Apple is trying for; they don't want consumer choice. They don't even want their own users to have a choice in what they use, and they have somehow convinced their loyal followers to actually believe this way more and more. A perfect example is the Adobe Flash issue on the iPad. Every excuse in the book can be used but at the end of the day the consumer should have a choice if they want to use Flash or not. This is just one example. The people continuing to support Apple's company and their products are only damaging good competition and innovation that truly ends up benefiting the customer themselves. I can only hope tons of these stupid claims are thrown out and that nothing much comes of it. The Nokia vs. Apple lawsuit is still pending and no words have been heard about it for quite some time so I truly hope this doesn't turn out to be the same way. That's about all I can say about this situation for now, Steve Jobs, Apple as a company and pretty much all of their employees make me sick to my stomach at this point. It's a real shame that computer related technology has ended up the way it has turned out. This may sound like a one sided post but I really have disliked Apple for a long time for various justified reasons. I'll link this engadget article just so anyone interested can see the absolutely horrifying and stupid patents they have been awarded by the STUPID USPTO.

I decided to order a Logitech Harmony One over the weekend and chose the Amazon Super Saver shipping method. I didn't realize at the time that the estimated ship date was going to be MARCH 8TH. Unbelievable that something can possible take that long. I finished Bioshock 2 over the weekend as well, wasn't nearly as fun as the first one I thought anyway. I can't wait for spring to arrive, the cold weather is really getting to me at this point. It appears the Nexus One will be arriving to both Verizon and ATT shortly which is pretty exciting. The next few days are going to be really busy with another large job that's starting tomorrow. I hope everything goes smoothly and it should hehe, but you never know what to anticipate sometimes. The Olympics turned out to be really great this year aside from our loss in hockey :D. It was a great game regardless, nonstop action. I also wish more people were on Google Buzz at this point, I really enjoy how easily integrated all of the services I use from Google are seamlessly integrated. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before more people use sites like that and move away from slower, unintuitive interfaces like Facebook.

i am interested in selling both my g1 and my xbox 360 if anyone is interested. the xbox 360 will come with a slew of games and 3 wireless controllers, vga cable, component cables, power supply, headset, and probably some controllers for guitar hero. the htc g1 will come rooted with one of the latest cyanogen builds on it and includes apps2sd already working with an 8gb class 6 micro sd card. i suggest this for tmobile users only because i have yet to unlock it but i will if i need to, i just want to get a little money out of the two items if i can and would rather see them go somewhere and be put to use than to sit here and rot for a year.

So the iPad was announced today and I think it's ugly beyond belief. The specs are also rather lacking considering the prices available. Apple continues to use this tired business model of charging consumers tons of money for a relatively small increase in storage space on the unit they're selling. They also like to remove the ability for you to ever replace the battery if need be. For some reason I thought this was going to be a rather huge announcement, although I'm sure this will still sell well I don't think it's what everyone was expecting. The processor is an A4 (arm) at 1GHZ, it runs at a resolution of 1024x768 (non widescreen) and it's just a newer version of iphoneos. With a new iphone coming out in just a few months how will this even compare to that device? I don't understand how with a processor only at 1ghz, and we have phones right now with those speed processors (nexus one, hd2), is the trade-off going to be to have a large device that's also fast (in a low resolution), and then you just have your portable to do everything else? no flash support, no multi tasking, there are tons of things lacking here. I can only hope to get my nexus one asap because I am DYING to tinker with a new toy! Android hopefully will make huge strives forward this year, as they did a very good job in 2009. I've heard that they will be giving away a choice of either the Motorola Droid or a Nexus One at the Game Developers Conference which can only be a positive thing in the ever continuing force that is Android. This will definitely be another exciting year I think anyway.

i finally got my contacts and new glasses. i can honestly say it's kind of difficult adapting to wearing glasses since i haven't ever worn them in 13 years of wearing contacts. at first it felt like i had tunnel vision and i was trying to look around the lenses themselves, but i am getting used to them and i do seem to like them. unfortunately the people who adjusted the nose clip things scratched the lenses while i was there today and i had to go back. they are going to order more but i will continue to wear these around the house for the time being. i'm still planning on wearing my contacts when i work on the job, i just don't feel comfortable working the way i do in environments that i'm in with glasses yet at least. we'll see how that plays out.

constantly have been having these same themed reoccuring dreams and waking up abruptly. its like im down in westport with apparently a large group of friends just like nye this year, but things are different. a couple people are in the dream that shouldnt be, and i always end up not finding my car when the dream is about to end, everyone leaving without me, my supposed gf in the dream getting a ride in another car and never seeing her again, and also feeling randomly like there is something i must say to her but i never get the chance. i wake up wanting to go back to the dream and that fake fantasy world because it feels like a life that i would have lived at least during some parts of the dream had things gone different in my life over the years. abandonment, close connections, love, good friends, reocurring, people out of place, her, risk, confusion, pain.

hopefully moving the hosting off of my home connection will make this at least quicker for me, and the 2 others that might possibly read this page. i had to buy glasses today and upgrade my stupid contacts prescription. i wish they would get here sooner because apparently i have blood vessels built up on my cornea from my eyes not getting enough oxygen so i'm now going to make it a point to take my contacts out when i'm home for the night and start wearing my glasses whenever they arrive. the lady at the sears optical place was a complete airhead, the optometrist was fine but the retail sales lady was a basket case. telling stories and crap about how bad her eyes were, how she can't read anything etc and all i wanted to do the whole time was get my trash and get out of there. hate to be like that because i was interested in first at what she had to but the stories just became worse and worse. also ever known anyone who got the bottom line type of glasses that are available in their little special gimmicky sales deals? me neither. i had to get some expensive pair (well i've never bought glasses so i don't really know) but i think with a year's supply of contacts, and my glasses it came out about $325, that's with 2 year protection plan as well. i do hope i made the right choice, i need to remedy this issue with my eyes because it's not like it's going to go away unless i do.

been playing borderlands quite a bit this weekend, already up to level 12. decided today that i was going to buy uncharted 2 and am just about to start that. i still have to go back and finish ff9, but some of these other games take priority right now hehe. google wave seems to have added some more extensions for me to use, i tested the maps gadget, video chat, and a couple others that i'm pretty sure weren't available the first day i tried using it. things seem to keep pushing forward in all areas for goog, i wish my phone wasn't seeming to be obsoleted by this newer android firmware, but i'm willing to live with it until i upgrade at the next JUNCTURE. errrrRRoger that

Well the turn out was better than I expected considering most of my group of friends from high school didn't even go at all except maybe a couple. It was still great fun to get to catch up with all the people of my past I seem to remember so well in different ways. Everyone looked fantastic and was doing very well. I'm testing this out and updating from my phone. Finally decided to put the cyanogen rom on my phone and I must say it is much faster and more optimized. I also went from having about 15mb free on internal storage, to about 450mb free for apps now. I have been on a downloading spree if you will. I finally decided to go ahead and get a new laptop. I've had the one prior to this one since about 2004 and it was on it's absolute last leg. This new one is absolutely gigantic and seems like a 70s disco with all the gadgets and bells and whistles. It was most definitely a great time to upgrade since they're having some decent sales because of back to school stuff. It's a Toshiba A505-S6965, was $749 retail and I added the 2 yr standard warranty for $150. Total bill came out to $968 with tax, which wasn't bad considering what I ended up with, a nice machine.

With the way this heat has been lately, if I have to step out to the truck to get a part or anything and am out there for longer than 5 minutes, it feels like I'm melting. Atleast most of our work has been inside lately :D. I finally received my 8gb Micro SD Class 6 for the G1 and also received my induction charging system for the wiimotes since I recently purchased the wii motion plus attachments. It makes my life a lot easier not having to remove the wii condom JUST to remove the batteries in order to charge them. I sent off my money for the 10 Year HS reunion earlier this month as well, and I actually am looking forward to going for some reason or another. Nothing else really new now, I may be going to the Blink 182 & Weezer concert at Sandstone, so if anyone is interested in going let me know. Concerts are always the most fun with larger groups, atleast to me, but isn't that the case with anything? That's all folks.

T-Mobile says the official cupcake OTA update should be out well, this past week, but it should be soon enough. I went ahead and rooted mine and updated to the latest JF 1.5 (cupcake) build and the new features are very nice. I won't go into detail over it but I also received my new 15% more powerful battery replacement so I'm in the process of draining the battery down now to get a full cycle. We'll see how that goes. I also finally had a chance to get the other pictures from the party at the 9100 place a couple weeks back from PsykoKat's perspective. You can check those out here. I ended up doing pretty much nothing all day except hanging out with one of my friends and playing Fallout 3 and Peggle for nearly 6 hours. I just finished watching Fred Claus, and I really did enjoy it. Dunno why I'm still awake I am tired because I slept horribly last night from going to sleep at the crack of dawn ha. I'm sure I'll sleep good soon! The Broken Steel DLC really is pretty in depth so far and I hope it doesn't end any time soon. I'm already nearly halfway at the new level cap but the enemies are truly much more difficult in this add on which is greatly welcomed. All for now, good night. :D

I miss a time I can barely rememeber. A time not that long ago but seems a distant memory; differnt life maybe. I remember now when she would call my friend and I would melt inside. I used to get nervous around her. She took care of me when I overwhelmed myself with alcohol. She made me remember what it felt like to be alive. She's so far away but still right there. She is special. I miss her, and I realize it more now than ever. Guess it sounds dramatic but a moment of realization usually is and has had an effect on me. I have been upside down backwards frontwards and now want to move forward. I want to feel alive again. I love seeing other people happy around me and want to strive for my own happiness myself. I feel calm.

saw a cat today that looked exactly like mine and thought she was outside, went and looked inside the house and my cat was laying on the bed. wtf. broken steel dlc for 360 and pc came out today so i'm enjoying that.

also my backyard has become a basic utopia of animals. the bunny that survived awhile back is now thriving and getting bigger, i saw the mom today as well, and there's a robin's nest on the downspout near the southeast corner of the house, on the underneath side. can't get wet at all and i just happened to see it actually feeding the babies this morning so they must have hatched! anyway i thought that was hilarious and i like watching stuff like that happen. back to fallout 3 broken steel for now!

I watched the Tyson documentary last night after being reminded that it was out from a friend's facebook post. It definitely wasn't all that I hoped for, I really wish he would have talked more in depth about things relating to his times with Don King and whatnot. It was heartwarming to finally see him choke up from his mentor, Cus dying and leaving him behind years prior. I had no idea he had 5 kids either, but it still sounds like he doesn't really know how to relate to people very well.

I also finally had a chance to finish Gears of War 2 with kid today. The ending was one of the worst I've ever seen. It was completely boring in every way, and of course it's building up for yet another sequel that feels quite like how the Matrix trilogy panned out. Oh well, all I'm looking forward to now is Broken Steel DLC and I'm still finishing Chronicles of Riddick. Anyway that's all for now. tata

I really miss playing games like that back in the day at local lan parties where everyone would get together and we'd all try to play everything we could in about 12 hours at a time. I've been extra bored today, especially with it being somewhat gloomy outside. I decided to try out a huge range of games today to try to spice it up. Started off with Grim Fandango, as I've never played it, it's definitely different but I really wish it was point and click like other lucasarts games. Played some Peggle as well, the game never gets old (or atleast so far) and it can become quite challenging at times. Rewards you greatly with the different sounds effects in the game though haha. Also been playing Broken Sword and at the moment am trying to get Deus Ex to work in Vista. Too many games, and what's more hilarious is they're mostly all really old. Hopefully will be headed out here shortly and do something fun this evening. If anyone has any plans or anything that sounds like fun as always msg me on here/fb/irc/etc/*!@)*)*$ :D

Today I was forced to change my opinions of the SEA, School and Education Administration, for a few reasons. First and foremost was the fact that the standards they set for a person to become a teacher are INCREDIBLY low. For example: To become a teacher you have to score 60% or above on a test that a THIRD grader could pass with a 80%. I mean it’s a joke. One of my teachers, we were talking about this in class, said that the easiest classes she ever had to take were the teaching classes in college…. I mean what is the point of the SEA pushing for 100,000 new teachers when they can’t even claim that the teachers they have now are effective! Example: I have a class called Computer Repair Technology. This is my second year in the course and have had a real teacher for only 1 semester out of 4…. Think about that. How often is it that you have a teacher for a class than you know more than he/she? Well its beginning to happen more and more. I wish the SEA would get off the tripp about needing new teachers and just go back to actually teaching the teachers!

As I sit here typing this I have begun to wonder about technology in the world today. The games we play are getting more advanced so you need to buy a better system or you can’t play. What happened to the good old days where you could just pull out your old 486/DX66 and play some good ‘ol doom with a bunch of freinds. You could play games like that on any machine with any type of lan with any friend and it would be awesome. Now ‘adays you have to have the latest in technology just to play! And if you don’t have a T1 or higher to the internet then NET play is almost impossible for any of the new games. Take SiN for example. I just finished the single player about 5 minutes ago. Now I have a PII/400 with 128megs of ram and A VooDoo2 12meg card and an AGP 2d card but STILL, it took well over 2 minutes to load each level! On a computer that is still one of the fastest on the market that is PATHETIC!! Why should game developers make games that only the l33test of the l33t can play using the crem de la crem of machines? I think we should revert to the old school days, which I am sorry I wasn’t as big a part of as I would have liked to be, and have some game companies come out with some more 1st person shooters that EVERYONE can play! I mean please! I understand the need for the latest and greatest but why should you need the “perfect machine” just to play a fucking game?! Bottom line, you shouldn’t. Technology is a great thing. But sometimes it hurts more than it helps…..

Our Degrading Generation – 10.29.1998 – by Lidian.31337

As I take a peek around, I’m looking for teens of my generation who are actually trying to progress. Instead, what I see is a huge portion of our generation going to waste. Examples of these teens are the vampires, gangsters, and overly-abusive drug users. The vampire teens are the worst, mainly because everything the yput their effort into is fake. They waste all their time wearing capes, fake fangs, and drinking juice – because their afraid of real blood. (how sad). Next in line are all these gangster bastards. I mean, sure, having your own click is cool, but wearing a certain color, talking like an ape, and having water gun fights because you can’t afford a real gun… does NOT make you cool. Lastly I would like to touch in on the overly-abusive drug users. I would have to say that while mind-altering substances are enjoyable, we don’t need to have our generation out on the streets smoking crack, shooting heroin, snorting coke, and etc. – to the point that their minds are worthless. These people will only lay around sucking up our money through welfare without ever putting anything worthwile back into out community. The groups I’ve exampled above are only a few of the minorities of teens in our generation that are degrading. Some others are the overly-religious, mindless skinheads, feminists, and etc. What I would like to see instead is more people who want to learn, get a decent job, have some fun, and keep the world going. So those of us who are leet-hearted can feel like the world we live in is worth living in. We don’t need idiotic people running around confused about life, what we need is not to “just live,” but live with purpose.

1st clan ufo sighting! – 08.30.1998 – by demo

August 30 1:15AM – Kingman, Kansas

A friend and I were out at my family lake just chillin in some lawn chairs looking at the stars. We noticed a red light off in the distance the moved strangely. It was flying towards kingman and then paused right over these spotlights, the the red light increased its brightness 10 times. At that point me and my friend knew it wasn’t anything we’ve seen before. After a few seconds of staying still it started circling the light and then turned towards us! We were so scared because we were a couple of miles from anyone so we jumped in my truck and watched it fly over us. It had a red light on one side of it with a blue light on the opposite side and what looked like a white light on the tail. Looked like an airplane flying over but no way, it flew still over the spotlight. I didn’t see the craft itself only the lights. [demo]

clan31337 was jointly formed by sickman, hazeus, me (grindking) and a few others a long time ago, after a huge branch of players broke off from IHOS, sickman and myself included. We then barely kept active with each other until Winter of ‘97 when sickman, hazeus, sseht, leprechaun and I all went down to Lawrence, KS for the impulse9 lanparty. We got tore up by IHOS and impulse9, but, managed to beat the Muppet Clan. After that lanparty, it was as if our clan just dissappeared. Nearly all of us stayed inactive as clans members, and mostly would just play every once in awhile due to real life and other problems/incidents. The main people who had helped start the clan had just basically left. I started creating the clanpage again, hoping to get what was left of the clan back together. Almost everyone had gone to different clans, so the only people left were Hazeus and me. We start updating the page, getting back into different types of games, and finding more people for the clan. Now we have quite a nice amount of people in our channel (#clan31337/efnet) and some of us play quite a bit.

We have definitely become something more than just a clan, we may not be able to play all the time, but, our clan is not limiting itself to just 1st person type games, our clan will stretch from quake type games, to motocross type games, to any type of game out there as long as we like it.
